The University Football League is Back, Makerere University Remains on Suspension.

One could only say the long-awaited moment is finally here!! The University football league is back. This happened on Monday, March 26, 2018 (Yesterday) as the University Football League conducted the 4 group draw at the same time unveiling their partnership with Pepsi and Nile Special as the League’s official sponsors.

This draw came with the exclusion of Makerere University which was suspended by the University Football League Disciplinary Committee after it found the affected University fans guilty of instituting violence against Busitema University fans shortly before the kick off of their game last season on 12th October, 2017.

In a decision of a committee led by Bainamani Bernard, the Kampala based University was issued with a two season ban which commenced last season shortly before the Knockout stages hence their exclusion from the race for this title.

For the Opening March, the defending Champions, Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) shall host Bishop Stuart University in what many expect to be an interesting battle for 3 points on 28th March, 2018.
