President Yoweri Museveni has promoted Brigadier now Major General Kasirye Gwanga who will also be allowed to retire this years 2018, more than 1384 officers have also been promoted to different ranks.
According to the statement released by the UPDF Spokesperson Brigadier Richard Karemire, the most senior of these officers are: Brigadier Kasirye Gwanga who has been promoted to Major General and will be allowed to retire, Brigadier Rwabantu becomes a Major General and will be working as the deputy general officer Commanding Reserves.

7 Col Kagoro Asingura to Brig (Ministry of Defence&Veteran Affairs Legal Officer)

The UPDF promotions come a day after President Museveni yesterday sacked General Kale Kayihura as IGP and replaced him with Mr Okoth Ochola as the new IGP. Ochola will be desputised by Brigadier Sabiiti Muzeei, the former military police boss.
The president also Knifed General Henry Tumukunde as the security minister and replaced him with major Elly Tumwine.
