Uganda Cranes creative midfielder Faruku Miya debuted for his new club, Sabail FK in the Azerbaijan top tier league on Sunday.
Sabail lost 1-0 at home to Qarabag FK at their 5000 Bayil Arena in Baku city.
Mahil Madatov scored the lone goal of the game in the 51st minute.
Manager Samir Aliyev introduced the 20 year old Ugandan in the 53rd minute.
Miya replaced Elman Tagayev in a double change that also witnessed Vuqar Nadirov pave way for Nurlan Novruzov.
The former Vipers Sports Club play maker was loaned to Sebail FK from Belgian side, Standard De Liege until the end of the season.
The previous weekend, Keshla had held Sabail to a one all draw.
Qarabag completed a double over Sabail following an early 2-0 victory at home on 8th December 2017
Sabail will once again host Gabala on Saturday, 24th February 2018.
Qarabag FK leads the 8 team log with 41 points as Sabail is 6th with 14 points.
