Man United team updates ahead of Rochdale’s game

Cyclone times brings you Man United team updates ahead of Carabao Cup. Manchester United will host Rochdale in the third round of the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford on Wednesday night 20:00BST, 22:00 EAT.

United hasn’t played Dale for the last 33 years but they believe this game will be memorable for the supporters.

The team news coming in indicates that Marcus Rashford is likely to miss the match after suffering a groin injury during the 2-0 win to West Ham on Sunday.

“We’ve got a scan tomorrow,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told the press after the final whistle. “He felt his groin, so he’ll probably be out for a little while.“

Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood also missed the game at the London Stadium. Shaw and Martial have been out since the Crystal Palace match in August, while Pogba has missed the last three games with an ankle injury sustained on international duty with France. Greenwood, who scored his first goal for the club in the 1-0 win over Astana last week, was ruled out of the trip to London through illness.

Rochdale currently holds in the 17th position in League One, having taken 10 points from their opening nine games.

The Crown Oil Arena for Rochdale is right half-an-hour drive from Old Trafford, but United has only faced the Manchester neighbor only once in a competitive fixture.

This happened in the FA Cup third round in 1986 when goals from Frank Stapleton and Mark Hughes ensured United got its defence of the famous trophy off to a perfect start.

Derby County knocked out United in Carabao Cup after a 2-2 draw in the past 12 months.
