The greater Masaka districts of Rakia, Ssemababule, Lwengo and Bukomansimbi have decried water crisis, getting water 10 to 15 Km away.
The long dry spell set off water catastrophe in the Masaka dry corridor causing residents in the region to decry the water tragedy.

Most of rural arrears with no access to National Water and Sewerage Cooperation (NWSC) are the most affected; others include schools, hospitals, police, Restaurants and guest houses.
However, officials in NWSC said that they can’t handle the crisis because their resources aren’t enough and most of places in the region are rural and hard to reach areas with no access to their water supply.
These areas depend on boreholes and Dam water, however, because of the long dry spell that has lasted for month now, boreholes and dams have dried up.
