Fearless Bishop tells Museveni to retire, for his Good, Country

The Rwenzori Diocese Bishop Reuben Kisembo has asked President Yoweri Museveni to forget the amendment of the Constitution and retire in 2021.

While speaking at the commissioning of a Multi-million dollar Project Buhinga stadium in Kabarole district yesterday (Saturday),  Bishop Kisembo bluntly asked Museveni to retire when his current term of office expires in 2021.

Mr President, we know the Constitution has been amended to enable you to stay in office beyond 2021. But it is not too late for you to consider retiring in 2021 for the good of the country and for your own good and health,” Bishop Kisembo said.

The angry Museveni fired back by asking the religious leader to have discipline in the way he addresses issues and to learn that everything has its own time adding that he had attended a fundraising event but not a political function.

“The religious leaders have been provoking us and me in particular, it should stop. I don’t want people to lecture me about what to do for Uganda. A person who wants to lecture me must have the qualifications,” Museveni said.

“There is time for everything, I have come for a fundraising. There should be a disciplined way of interacting,” Museveni added.

He added that religious leaders should meet him for a discussion but they should stop speaking anyhow.

The President laid the foundation Stone for the sports facility which is estimated to cost Sh11 Billion in Kabarole District, Fort Portal sub region.
