Borussia Dortmund have confirmed they have agreed a fee with Arsenal over the sale of Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, in what is reported to be a £60m move.
Arsene Wenger had earlier admitted to being delighted at being close to signing the striker.
“Yes, it’s good news,” Wenger said. “We need people who can give us more offensive power – at the moment we are not efficient enough going forward and I’m convinced he will bring us that,” Wenger told Daily Mail.
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc couldn’t resist a parting shot at Aubameyang: “Apart from the unpleasant episodes in the past few weeks we would like to remember that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at BVB was a real success story,” Daily Mail quoted.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is now set to play alongside Mesut Ozil, Alexander Lacazette and the new signing, Henrikh Mkhitaryan who arrived from Manchester United as a swap for Chilean international, Alexis Sanchez
