Coach Alex Isabirye returns to Soana football club
Coach Alex Isabirye has rejoined Soana Football Club from FUFA Big League side Nyamityobora on one year contract. This is Isabirye’s second time with the Kavumba based side in a space of four months. Isabirye has re-joined Soana Football Club, a club he had deserted in August 2017 before joining new comers Masavu FC as coached by the club president, Smart Obed.
At Masavu, he spent there just a week, quitting after citing internal disorganization at the club. At Nyamityobora, he took charge of 12 games in the second tier league where the club managed to finish second in the first round of the Rwenzori Group with 25 points, one below leaders Kitara FC. He won seven games, drew four and lost one.
Isabirye’s first task will be to reorganize Soana FC ahead of the second round of the Azam Uganda Premier League that kick-off in February. Soana who finished the first round in tenth place with 19 points have had inconsistent performances. Out of the 15 games they played, they won five, drew four and lost six games. Isabirye’s second spell at Soana will see him take over the club that he understands in and out.
He has formerly worked at Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club, BUL, Sports Club Victoria University, Kirinya Jinja SS, Masavu and lately Nyamityobora. At URA, he also had two coaching spells. Soana in charge of Isabirye kicks off the second round training on 15th January 2018.
